Current (stand 13.07.2007): The X-BL-Kit for upgrading the X-UFO to brushless motors was shipped on 12th July. There was a special offer in the forum where 100 Kits were available for a lower price. The first series of 100 kits was sold out in 2 days. The second series is scheduled for August.

Technical data: X-BL52S (Manufacturer: Hacker http://www.hacker-motor.com) Spacing of mounting holes in the motor: 16 mm and 19 mm Abstand der Befestigungslöcher des Motors: 16 mm und 19 mm Spindle diameter: 3 mm

The motors are custom made by Hacker. (they have a special winding to match the Ufo) Using other motors is not recomended because the BL-Controlers are tuned for the original ones. Using other ones may lead to hardware problems or even damage.

Propeller mounting: The original X-Ufo propeller have to be drilled to 3 mm. To do that you need a very sharp drill that you should turn by hand. Using a drill machine may lead to a askew hole in the propeller.

There are also special propellers in development. These will be custom made for the Ufo to get even more performance from the motors. That will also lead to a loss in stability. While the original X-Ufo propellers are nearly indestructible the new ones will be more sensitive to ground contact.
