The X-BL is the high-end toy version developed by the X-3D Crew. It uses four brushless outrunners motors (called X-BLDC) which are connected to the high-performance brushless controllers which where developed for the needs of a multi-rotor system. Due to the high speed attitude controller running at 1kHz and the very good power to thrust ratio of about 4:1 the X-BL is a perfect trainer for acrobatic helicopter flying. It shares the advantages of the mechanical simplicity and robustness with all other quadro-, and multicopters.

The X-BL consists of several electronical and mechanical components:

• X-CSM Frame (X-CSM), alternatively Hammer-Frames
• X-3D Gyro (X-3D) as sensor PCB, running the attitude controller loops
• X-Base (X-Base) as peripheral PCB for connecting the motors, the receiver, LEDs and other user electronics
• X-BL (X-BL) and X-BLDC (X-BLDC) as brushless controller and motor combination
• X-Ufo propellers for safety and reliability or upcoming modified high performance propellers
• optional: X-ACC (X-ACC) for absolute pitch and roll stabilisation and speed height stabilisation
